Muhammad b. Fadl b. Aḥmad b. Muhammad b. Abū'l-ʿAbbās Abū ʿAbdallāh al-Saʿīdī al-Farāwī. His father was in a neighborhood in Farāw. He settled in Nishapur. Muhammad b. Fadl was born there. Muhammad b. Fadl listened to many ḥadīth. He listened to ḥadīth scholars in various towns. He learned. He issued fatwā. He engaged in debates and gave sermons. He was a refined, handsome-faced, pleasant-tempered person who smiled often. He had more than 1,000 assemblies where ḥadīth were dictated. Students from various parts of the country came to him and listened to ḥadīth from him. So much so that it was said, "Farāwī has a narrator." According to another narration, this was written on the eyebrow of his ring. He narrated and recited Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim nearly twenty times. He passed away at the age of ninety in the month of Shawwāl of that year.
