Muhammad b. Mansur b. Muhammad b. ʿAbd al-Jabbār Abū Bakr al-Samʿānī. He listened to many ḥadīths. He transmitted ḥadīth. He served as a preacher at the Nizāmiyya madrasa in Baghdad. In the city of Merv, he established 140 assemblies and had ḥadīths written down. He possessed complete knowledge concerning ḥadīth. He was a man of letters, a poet, and virtuous. There was great love and acceptance towards him in the hearts of people. He passed away in the city of Merv at the age of forty-three in this year.
