Muḥyiddīn Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm b. Ḥusayn b. Sūrāqa. His kunyah was Abū Bakr. He was from the Maghrib. He was among the Anṣār and hailed from the town of Shā-ṭibiyya. His kunyah was Abū Bakr and he was from the land of the Maghrib. He was a scholar, virtuous, and pious person. He was a ḥāfiẓ of ḥadīth. He resided in Ḥalab for a while. Then he went to Dimashq. From there he migrated to Miṣr. In Miṣr, after Zakiyy al-Dīn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīm al-Munzirī, he was appointed as the shaykh of the Dār al-Ḥadīth of Kāmiliyya. He had listened to and collected ḥadīth in Baghdad and other towns. At the time of his death, he had passed seventy years of age.
