Mūsā b. Isḥāq

Mūsā b. Isḥāq b. Mūsā b. ʿAbdullāh Abū Bakr al-Anṣārī al-Ḥutā-nīʿī. He was born in the year 210 AH. He heard ḥadīth from his father, from Imām Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal, from ʿAlī b. al-Jaʿd, and from others. While he was still young, some people listened to ḥadīth from him and recited the Qurʾān in his presence. He belonged to the Shāfiʿī madhhab. He was appointed as the judge of Ahwāz. He was a trustworthy (sīqa) narrator, virtuous, chaste, eloquent, and narrated many ḥadīths. He passed away in the month of Muḥarram of that year.
