Izzeddīn Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad b. Tarḥān al-Suwaydī al-Anṣārī. He passed away in the month of Shaʿbān of this year and closed his eyes to life at the age of ninety. He was buried in the Sufīḥ cemetery in Qāsyūn. He narrated some ḥadīth. In the art of medicine, he surpassed the people of his time. He authored books related to medicine. He was accused of deficiencies in his religious feelings, abandoning ṣalāh (prayer), and laxity in his ʿaqīda (creed). It was also alleged that he denied many matters related to the Hereafter. Allah will judge him and his peers with justice and will never wrong them. Some expressions in his poetry strikingly demonstrate his lack of religion and intellect, absence of iman (faith), and objection to the prohibition of khamr (intoxicants). It has also been said that he abandoned fasting by claiming that Ramaḍān was long and engaged in other behaviors contrary to the sharīʿa (sacred law).
