Abū Shāma, while recounting the events of the previous year, narrated the biography of this person. This is very accurate. Because Abū Shāma was present at this person's funeral ceremony in Egypt. Ibn Saʿī, on the other hand, stated that Ibn Mutī passed away this year and mentioned that he was a distinguished person at the court of the Egyptian ruler Kāmil Muḥammad. He also said that I composed a poetic work on the qirāʾāt al-sabʿa (the seven canonical readings), that I versified the Alfāẓ al-Jawhara, and that I intended to versify the Ṣiḥāḥ al-Jawharī as well.
