Osman b. Ahmed b. Abdullah b. Yezid Abū ʿAmr ad-Dakkāk. He was known by the name Ibn Sammāk. He narrated ḥadith from Hanbal b. Ishāq and others. Darekutnī and others also transmitted narrations from him. He was a ṣiqah (reliable) and steadfast narrator. He personally wrote many works. He passed away in the month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal of this year and was buried in the Bab al-Ṭibn cemetery. Fifty thousand people attended his funeral.
