He was the naẓīr (supervisor) of the Ḥalab divans. Afterwards, he was transferred to the naẓīrship of the Ṭarāblus divans. In the month of Jumādā al-Awwal of that year, he passed away in Ḥamā. He loved the ʿulamāʾ and the people of virtue. He was a generous and benevolent person. He and Qāḍī Nāṣir al-Dīn of Dimashq had served as sirr kātib (secretaries of the inner council). and was a mudarris (teacher) at the
ʿAsadiyya
Madrasah in Ḥalab, as well as at the Nāṣiriyya and Shāmiyya al-Jawwāniyya Madrasahs in Dimashq.
