ʿAbdurraḥmān b. Abī Muḥammad b. Muḥammad b. Sulṭān al-Karāmizī. He was renowned as a devout, ascetic person who regularly attended the Umayyad Mosque. He recited the Qur'an frequently and engaged in dhikr (remembrance of God). He had companions who sat in his assembly. Nevertheless, he was a possessor of wealth and property. He passed away at the beginning of the month of Ṭiḥ al-Ḥarām this year, at the age of eighty-five or eighty-six. He was buried in the Bab al-Ṣaghīr Cemetery. He had listened to hadith, engaged in knowledge, then abandoned all these and devoted himself to worship, maintaining this state until his death.
