Shaykh ʿAlamüddīn Abū'l-Ḥasan Muḥammad b. Imām Abū ʿAlī Ḥusayn b. ʿĪsā b. ʿAbdullāh b. Rashīk al-Ribʿī. He belonged to the Mālikī madhhab (legal school). He was Egyptian. Upon his death, he was buried in the Qurāfa cemetery. A large crowd attended the funeral ceremony. He was a faqīh (jurist) and a muftī (legal expert). He had heard ḥadīth. He had reached the age of eighty-five.
