He was originally from Homs. Later, he settled in Dınıaşk and served as the muezzin of Rebve for forty-five years. He had a collection of poetry, writings, and behaviors that were unbecoming of his station. His religious sentiments were lax. He passed away this year in the month of Jumada al-Awwal.

Amīr Shihābuddīn b. Berk

He was the supervisor (mutawallī) of Damascus. He died on the second of Shaʿbān. A large crowd attended his funeral. He was buried in the Ṣāliḥiyya Cemetery. People praised him.
