Shaykh Faḍl al-ʿAclūnī

He was an ascetic person. His lineage is as follows: Shaykh Faḍl b. ʿĪsā b. Kandīl al-ʿAclūnī al-Ḥanbalī, who resided in Mismariye. Originally, he was from the district of Ḥabraḥī. He was content with little worldly possessions. He wore very cheap and long garments and wore large turbans. He knew the interpretation of dreams and was visited by people who wanted their dreams interpreted. He never took any compensation from anyone for this. He was offered high-salaried positions but never accepted any of them. He passed away in the month of Dhū al-Ḥijja this year, approaching ninety years of age. He was buried near the grave of Shaykh Taqīyyuddīn b. Taymiyya. May Allah have mercy on both of them. His funeral was attended by a large crowd of people.
