He resided in his own garden in Shağor. He ate the produce of this garden and also fed those who came to him. He was a person who was visited. When he was dying, he performed ghusl (ritual purification). Holding his hair, he turned towards the qibla. After performing a few rakʿāt of prayer, he passed away. Having exceeded 100 years of age, he met the mercy of the Most Merciful on Monday, the fourth of Jumādā al-Awwal of this year.
Tawāshī Safiyyuddīn Jawhar al-Tiflīsī
He was a muḥaddith (scholar of ḥadīth). He was engaged in listening to ḥadīth. He studied the juzʾ (section) of ḥadīth. He was a person of good character, pious, gentle-natured, intelligent, and possessing zeal. He endowed the ḥadīth juzʾ he obtained to the muḥaddithīn (scholars of ḥadīth).
