He abandoned the public and turned to asceticism, reading the Qur'an, worship, continuous fasting, and secluding himself in his mosque located at the foot of Mount Qāsyūn. This state lasted for approximately thirty years. He was among the distinguished and virtuous individuals. When he passed away, he was buried in his famous tomb in the mosque. There is a bathhouse attributed to him in Masāriq al-Ṣāliḥiyya. Sibt praised him. Others have also said that he died this year.
