Shaykh Imam ʿAlīm Shihābuddīn

ʿAbd al-Ḥalīm b. Shaykh Imam Allāmah Majduddīn ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. Abū'l-Qāsim b. Taymiyya al-Ḥarrānī. Our teacher is the father of Allāmah al-ʿIlm Taqiyyuddīn b. Taymiyya. He established distinguishing lines among sects. He possessed beautiful qualities as a virtuous person. He carried many excellences in his person. He had a pulpit in the Damascus Mosque. Sitting on the pulpit, he delivered spontaneous speeches. He served as the shaykh of the Sukkariyya dār al-ḥadīth in Qasāyin. He resided there. After him—as will be explained later in the following year—his son Shaykh Taqiyyuddīn began teaching. When he passed away that year, he was buried in the Syrian cemetery. May Allah have mercy on him.
