He was a pious and devout shaykh, and his lineage is as follows: Nāṣir al-Dīn b. Shaykh Ibrāhīm b. Maʿdat b. Shaddād b. Mājid b. Mālik al-Jābirī. He was originally from Jābir. Later, he settled in Egypt. He was born in the year 650 AH, in the fiftieth year, at the fortress of Jābir. He listened to Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim and other hadith books. He addressed people, engaged in sohbet (spiritual conversation), gave advice, and conveyed to them much from tafsīr (Qur'anic exegesis) and other sciences. He was a righteous and devout person. He passed away on the twenty-fourth of the month of Muḥarram in that year. He was buried beside his father, except for Bāb al-Naṣīr. Their graves are in their own zawiyas (Sufi lodges).
