He was among the righteous. His lineage is as follows: Dāwūd b. Ḥātim b. ʿUmar al-Ḥabbāl. He belonged to the Ḥanbalī madhhab (legal school). He had karāma (saintly wonders), good spiritual states, and realized mukāshafāt (spiritual unveilings). His ancestors came from Ḥarrān. He resided in Baʿlabakk and passed away there at the age of ninety-six in this year. Shaykh Quṭb al-Dīn b. Shaykh al-Faqīh al-Yūnīnī praised him highly.
