Shaykh Ṣāliḥ

Shihāb al-Dīn Muḥammad b. Ḥalaf b. Rājiḥ al-Maqdisī. He belonged to the Ḥanbalī madhhab (legal school). He was an ascetic, a devout worshipper, and a person of taqwā (God-consciousness). On Fridays, he would sit under the minbar of the Muzaffarī Mosque and recite the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to the public. He had listened to many hadiths. He traveled to various regions for the purpose of collecting hadiths and had memorized al-Ḥarīrī's Maqāmāt in fifty nights. He was well-versed in many sciences. He was a person of refined character. May Allah have mercy on him.
