Tājaddīn b. Muḥtasib. Known as Ibn Sāʾī. He was from Baghdad. He was born in the year 593 AH. He listened to ḥadīth. He was interested in history. He compiled and classified works. His memory was not strong. He was not among those with perfect retention. When he passed away, Ibn Najjār made his will to him. He has a history work. A large part of this work is currently with me. He also has other useful classified works. The last work he classified is "Kitāb fī al-Zuhhād". In the marginal notes of this work, Zakiyyuddīn ʿAbdullāh b. Ḥabīb al-Kātib wrote the following poem:
"Tājaddīn, for a long part of his life, was always engaged in seeking knowledge and compiling scholarly works. What he did is beneficial. It is never harmful.
By his classifications, he surpassed me. This is also a good end."
