Tarrad b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. Ḥasan b. Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Wahhāb b. Sulaymān b. ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm Imām b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbbās Abū'l-Fawāris b. Abū'l-Ḥasan b. Abī'l-Qāsim b. Abū Tammām. Zayd b. bint Sulaymān b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbbās is from the same lineage. The bint Sulaymān mentioned in this genealogy was an Umm walad (a slave woman who bore a child). Tarrad b. Muḥammad heard numerous ḥadīths. He wrote large books. He narrated only from one group. He traveled to many regions for the purpose of collecting ḥadīths. He had ḥadīths written down in various places. Scholars and sayyids used to come to his assembly. Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Damīgānī also attended his assembly. Tarrad served as the naqīb (head) of the students for a long time. He passed away at the age of over ninety in this year and was buried in the martyrs' cemetery of Baghdad.
