He was a famous scribe and wrote beautiful calligraphy. His lineage is as follows: Bahaeddin Mahmud b. Ḥātibī Baalbek Muḥyiddīn Muḥammad b. ʿAbdurraḥīm b. ʿAbd al-Waḥḥāb al-Sulamī. He was born in the year 688 AH. He engaged in the art of calligraphy. He became a calligrapher of a high degree. In writing and manuscript copying, he surpassed all the calligraphers of his time. He was a person of beautiful appearance, pleasant character, sweet voice, and affectionate nature. He passed away at the end of the month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal in that year. He was buried in the tomb of Shaykh Abū ʿUmar. May Allah have mercy on him.
