Vizier Taqī Tawba

Takiyyüddīn Tawba b. ʿAlī b. Muhājir b. Shūjāʿ b. Tawba al-Ribʿī al-Tikrītī. He was born on the day of Arafat in the year 620 AH in ʿArafāt. He served in state administration. Later, he served repeatedly as vizier in Dimashq. Finally, he passed away on the night of Thursday, the 2nd of Jumādā al-Ākhirah of that year. The next morning, the funeral prayer was performed at the Umayyad Mosque, in Sūkulhayl. He was buried in his tomb located opposite the Ashrafiyya Dār al-Ḥadīth in Sifah. Judges and notable local figures were present at the funeral ceremony. After his death, Fahreddīn b. Shayrajī was appointed as the head of the dīwān (bureaucracy), and Eminüddīn b. Hilāl was appointed as the head of the treasury.
