He was the ruler of Ifrīqiya. He was among the distinguished and virtuous rulers. He was an ʿārif (gnostic), and his way of life and governance were good; he loved the poor and the ʿulamāʾ (scholars). He would give them provisions and money. He died at the age of fifty-two in this year. He left behind thirty children. After him, his son ʿAlī succeeded to the throne.
