He is known as Ibn Jazari. He served as treasurer during the time of al-Mustazhir. When al-Mustarshid was the heir apparent, Yusuf b. Aḥmad did not show him the necessary attention. When he ascended to the caliphate, he fined Yusuf 100,000 dinars. Afterwards, Yusuf made an arrangement with a slave and sent him to a house. The slave found 400,000 dinars in the house. The caliph took this money from him. Yusuf died shortly thereafter in this same year.
