Zuhayr b. ʿAlī b. Ḥasan b. Ḥuzām. His kunyah was Abū Naṣr al-Ḥuzānī. He came to Baghdad. He learned fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) from Shaykh Abū Ḥāmid al-Isfarāyīnī. In Basra, he listened to Qāḍī Abū ʿUmar reciting Abū Dāwūd's Sunan. He narrated many ḥadīth. People also consulted him for fatwā (legal verdicts). He resolved difficult issues. He died this year in the city of Sarakhs.
Said b. Marwān
He was the governor of ʿAmīd. It is said that he was poisoned. The ruler of Silvān avenged him by tearing apart the one who poisoned him.
