The Exalted God does not love deeds performed with partners nor a heart that is shared. Just as God Most High does not accept a deed performed with partners, so too does He not turn His attention to a heart that is shared.
Poetic Translation
The Lord does not love deeds done with partners
Just as He never loves a heart that is shared
Deeds performed with partners do not reach the sacred side of acceptance
Nor does that Generous One look upon a divided heart
In this world, the land of affliction, every pain has its remedy / the remedy for the pain of rebellion is
seeking forgiveness (istighfār).
Explanation
A deed performed with partners (müşterek amel) is worship mixed with ostentation and showing off, lacking ikhlas (sincerity). A divided heart (ortaklı kalp) is a heart that, though originally a locus for divine manifestation, has become a place for the love of other than Allah. Such a heart has become captive to love of status, relying on and trusting in created beings.
The reason why the Exalted God does not love deeds performed with partners is that such a person turns toward and attaches themselves to people. For a deed performed in this way is corrupt and unsound. Similarly, the reason why a divided heart is distant from divine grace is that its owner, relying on and trusting in their own nafs (the lower self), is sick and unstable.
In summary, according to the hadiths meaning "The ruling on a deed is according to the intention and purpose behind it!" and "A person's intention is better than their deed!", deeds not based on good intention, ikhlas, and purity are never accepted by Allah. Likewise, in accordance with the verse, "Allah has not placed two hearts in a man's breast" (al-Ahzab 33:4), a heart that is not a locus for divine love and is covered with the dust of all that is other than Allah and the colors of heedlessness can never be gladdened by the pure wine of the meaning, "Allah is with us" (al-Tawba 9:40).
