Eḥad is interpreted in three ways:
1. Allah is described with eḥad; as in the following verses:
Does he think that no one [eḥad] {that is, Allah!} has power over him? He says, "I have spent enormous wealth." Does he think that no one [eḥad] {that is, Allah} sees him? (al-Balad 90:5-7)
2. With the word eḥad, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is intended; as in the following verses:
We will never obey anyone [eḥad] against you {that is, the hypocrites said, "We will never obey Muhammad against you [the Jews]"}. (al-Hashr 59:11)
You were fleeing without looking back at anyone [eḥad] {that is, the Prophet}. (Āl ʿImrān 3:153)
3. With the word eḥad, Bilāl is intended while he was a mawlā (freed slave); as in the following verse:
And with him is no favor from anyone [eḥad] to be repaid (that is, with Abū Bakr, Bilāl had no favor such that Abū Bakr freed him in return for that favor. Rather, Abū Bakr freed Bilāl to seek Allah's pleasure). (al-Layl 92:19)
