ʿAbd al-Bāṭin is the person who attains the highest degree in actions of the qalb (the heart), makes praise purely for Allah alone, and whose secret is sanctified by Allah. Allah manifests Himself to such a person with His Name al-Bāṭin until his spirituality prevails, he becomes aware of inner realities, and is informed of the unseen. As a result, the servant invites people to the purification of the spiritual journey through spiritual kamāl (perfection) and sanctification. The servant prefers tanzīh (declaring God's transcendence) over tashbīh (affirming similarity). This is similar to how Jesus (peace be upon him) (and Adam, according to Jāmiʿ), invited to heavenly and spiritual matters, the unseen world, avoidance of luxury in clothing, distancing from people, and retreat (khalwa). 'ʿAbd al-Badīʿ' (see) ʿAbd al-Badīʿ is the servant who witnesses Allah's being al-Badīʿ (the Originator) in His Essence, attributes, and acts. Allah has made him the locus of manifestation of this Name. Thus, he begins to create what others are incapable of. (Kāshānī, 129; Jāmiʿ, 13)
