ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq is the person upon whom al-Ḥaqq (the Real, i.e., God) manifests (tajallī). Through this manifestation, Allah protects his actions, words, and spiritual states (aḥwāl) from bāṭil (falsehood), and he sees al-Ḥaqq in everything. For al-Ḥaqq is self-subsisting by His Essence, necessary and constant. That which is called "other than Him" (sivā) is bāṭil, will perish, and is only established through Him. Thus, such a person perceives this: in the form of truth, as truth; in the form of falsehood, as falsehood. (Kāshānī, 119; Jāmiʿ, 10)
