ʿAbd al-Muḥṣī is the one whom Allah has enabled to enumerate everything in terms of number and who encompasses all things in knowledge. Such a person counts knowledge either as a whole or individually, and comprehends all existents. He holds his nafs (the lower self) to account and reckons his words and actions. (Jāmiʿ, 10)
