ʿAbd al-Wājid is the person whom Allah has distinguished with existence (wujūd) in the manifestation of the collective unity (jamʿ) of His ahadiyya (ahadiyya: the divine oneness of uniqueness). The existent wāḥid (wāḥid: the One), becomes existent through the existence (wujūd) of the ahadi (ahadi: the Unique).
He thus becomes ʿAbd al-Wāḥid (ʿAbd al-Wāḥid: the servant of the One). By this, he becomes independent of everything else. For, with Him, whoever is saved is saved with everything. Therefore, he has neither lost anything nor desired anything. (Kāshānī, 121; Jāmiʿ, 11)
