ʿAbd al-Wāḥid is the one whom Allah has brought to the station of wāḥidiyya (the station of Divine Oneness), and to whom He has unveiled the synthesis of His names' ahadiyya (the station of Divine Uniqueness). Thus, such a person perceives what Allah enables him to perceive through His names, and contemplates what He causes him to contemplate. He witnesses the various aspects of the asmāʾ al-ḥusnā (the Most Beautiful Names of Allah). He is the unique one of his time, the master of the era who occupies the maqām (spiritual station) of the Supreme Ahadiyya. (Kāshānī, 121; Jāmiʿ, 11)
