ʿAbd al-Ṣamad is the manifestation (maẓhar) of Ṣamadiyya (the Divine Attribute of al-Ṣamad). He is sought for the removal of afflictions and the attainment of good. Through him, intercession is sought so that Allah may lift punishment and grant reward. He is the locus upon which Allah gazes in regard to His lordship (rubūbiyya) over the world.
