These secrets were not disclosed to anyone other than Ahmed. Muhammad is not the father of any of your men. (al-Ahzab 33:40) Having surpassed the two worlds (al-kawnayn) and hidden from the two species (al-thaqalayn: humans and jinn), his eye did not see where (ayn), before him there remained neither a veil (rayn) nor a lie (mayn). He became at the distance of two bow-lengths. (al-Najm 53:9)
When he reached the threshold of the knowledge of ḥaqīqa (inner reality), he radiated news from the depths of his heart. When he attained the ḥaqīqa of ḥaqīqa, he renounced all desires and fully submitted to al-Jawād (the Generous One). Upon reaching the Truth (al-Ḥaqq), he returned and said: "My pupil prostrated to You, my heart had iman (faith) in You." When he attained the ultimate goal of all goals, he spoke thus: "I am incapable of praising You as You deserve." And when he reached the ḥaqīqa of ḥaqīqa, he bowed his head and said: "You are as You have praised Yourself." Passing beyond whim and desire, he attained the goal, and "his heart did not deny what he saw." (al-Najm 53:11) And at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary... (al-Najm 53:14), he did not look to the right or the left, neither to ḥaqīqa nor to the ḥaqīqa of ḥaqīqa... "His gaze did not swerve nor did it transgress." (al-Najm 53:17) (Tawāsin, 195)
It has not befit anyone to make a claim except Ahmed and Iblis. However, while Iblis fell from grace, for Ahmed the eye of the eye was opened.
To Iblis it was said: "Prostrate!" To Ahmed: "Look!" Iblis did not prostrate, and Ahmed did not look to the right or the left. His gaze neither swerved nor transgressed. Iblis claimed superiority and relied on his own power. Ahmed put forward humility and, with the supplication: "O Turner of hearts, I cannot praise You enough!" he did not depend on his own strength. (Tawāsin, 204)
