The perceptions of created beings have no connection with ḥaqīqa (inner reality), nor does ḥaqīqa have any connection with created beings. Hawātir (voices arising from our inner world) are alāʾik (obstacles that prevent one from the path of Truth). Alāʾik do not lead them to ḥaqīqa. While it is not easy to comprehend the knowledge of ḥaqīqa, how will you comprehend the reality of ḥaqīqa itself? The right of the Real (Ḥaqq) is beyond ḥaqīqa. Ḥaqīqa, in turn, is something entirely distinct from the Real (Ḥaqq). (Tawāsīn, 194)
The meaning of prayer is to detach (tajrīd) oneself from every kind of attachment and bond, and to become singular (tafrīd) with ḥaqīqas (inner realities)—that is, to be concerned only with ḥaqīqas or to become unified in one's concern with ḥaqīqas. (Taʿarruf, 109)
Alāʾik are the causes that those who seek (ṭālib) are concerned with, which prevent them from the object of desire (murād). (Hujwīrī, 466)
