ān-i dāʾim (Continuous Moment)

The ān-i dāʾim (continuous moment) is the expansion of the Divine Presence (Ilāhī Ḥaḍrat) station that encompasses both pre-eternity (azal) and post-eternity (abad). Both (pre-eternity and post-eternity) are present within the current moment in order for what is in pre-eternity to manifest in the temporal segments of post-eternity. By encompassing all segments of pre-eternity and post-eternity, pre-eternity, post-eternity, and the present moment unite. For this reason, it is called the inner aspect of time (bāṭin of time) or the origin of time. This is because the accidents (aʿrāḍ) that are parts of time, the imprints upon it, and the changes in its judgments and forms are all transformations that manifest upon it. In reality, it (the continuous moment) always exists in its own state, is constant, and does not change. (This Presence may be ascribed a relation [nisba] of indiyyat [nearness to God].) As the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'With your Lord, there is neither morning nor evening.' (Kāshānī, 32; Jāmiʿ, 28, 76)
