A person without tongue and heart is ignorant, arrogant, and an āsi (rebel against God). Allah does not care for him. There is no good in him. Unless Allah encompasses them with His mercy, guides their qalb (the heart) to iman (faith) and hudā (guidance), and moves their bodies to obedience, he and those like him are like worthless chaff. Beware of becoming like them! Pay them no heed! Do not sit or associate with them! They are people of punishment. (Futūḥ, 74)
asl-fer: The asl (origin, principle) is that to which additions can be made. The origin of all origins is hudā (guidance)... ...Ferʿ (branch) is what remains from the origin. What remains from the branch is also called origin. (Lumāʿ, 433)
The origin makes its branch firm
The branch is not the origin
Know that even the origin's origin does not belong to itself
Consider that the origin is not your own
We can know the branch
The intellect never rejects the origin
Just as we know Allah by our own knowledge
as the transmission (naql) has taught us
so too does the Absolute see my praise
Neither the genus nor the specific difference belongs to the origin
The Real (al-Ḥaqq) addresses me in the language of the Qur'an:
No doer has any deed that truly belongs to himself
