Beneath it lies theophany of the acts (tecelli-yi efʿāl, theophany of the acts). However, the things that manifest from these theophanies appear from the Divine Presence (Ilāhī Ḥaḍrat). If a person is not the locus of manifestation for these things that appear from the Divine Presence, his qalb (the heart) is heedless of Allah, and he himself is distanced from the ḥāl (spiritual state) of proximity (qurbiyyet, nearness) to Allah. When Allah manifests (tecelli, theophany) to one of His servants with one of His Names, that servant is annihilated under the light of that Name (he comes under the domination and sovereignty of that Name). Whenever he calls upon the Real (al-Ḥaqq) with this Name, that servant responds to you because this Name is operative over him. The first maqām (spiritual station) in which the theophany of the Names is witnessed is when Allah manifests to His servant with the Name al-Mawjūd (the Existing). Thus, that Name becomes the servant's Name, and a higher theophany than this is when He manifests with the Name al-Wāḥid (the One).
