Cibillât (natures, innate dispositions) are diverse. Some people accept quickly, while others accept slowly. There are two reasons for this. The first is due to the precedence of what is in the body. For the feeling of shahwa (carnal desire), the feeling of anger, and the capacity for reflection are all present in the human being. The most difficult to change, and the most rebellious against the human being, is the feeling of shahwa. This is because the feeling of shahwa, in terms of existence, is the oldest among the feelings in the human being, and its initiative and insistence are the most intense. This force exists in the human being from the very moment of creation. In fact, this feeling is also present in animals of the same kind. After this comes the sense of zeal and anger. The capacity for reflection, however, arises later. The reason is that creation strengthens it through the necessary acts and acts of obedience; it is reinforced as one's being becomes beautiful and lovable. (Mizān, 53)
