The one who possesses friendship (walāya). After this comes the station of love. This station, in the divine manifestation, consists of the Muhammadan station.

Finally, the hitām (seal) station comes. This is the ultimate name of the station of proximity (maqām al-qurbiyya). There is no path to its end, for Allah has no end. However, the name hitām is related to all the stations of proximity. The one who is in the station of proximity is the last of the awliyāʾ (friends of God), and regarding the station of hitām, he is the inheritor of the Prophet (peace be upon him). For the station of proximity is the maqām maḥmūd (the praised station). The wasīla (means) is the arrival of the one in the station of proximity to that place, such that no one can surpass him. Thus, he becomes unique in these divine stations. It is necessary to believe that this was realized with the Prophet Muhammad. The wasīla is the highest place in Paradise. The statement that the wasīla will belong to only one person alludes to this (ishāra). (Insān, II, 97)
