Junayd said: Sufism (taṣawwuf) is a war without peace (it is a constant struggle). Another of his sayings: They are the people of a house; no one other than them can enter among them. Another of his sayings: Sufism (taṣawwuf) is to remember Allah with a collected mind (to perform dhikr with focus), and to enter ecstasy through audition (samāʿ) and spiritual rapture (wajd).
