Din (religion) is inkiyād (submission) and huzūʿ (humility). It is derived from the word dun (meaning lowly or humble). Everything (or everyone) that is humble is at a lower level. Din is also the act of a person surrendering himself to his Lord (seeing himself as being at a lower level before Him, submitting to Him, and being humble in His presence).
