Coming with ghayra (protective jealousy), he imparted to each number its own ahadiyya (divine oneness). He then accepted his excuse, and in this regard, realized that he had adopted the character of the ahadiyya of the Real (al-Ḥaqq) in fulfilling the ahadiyya of the many names. Because of his ghayra, the name "witr" (the One, Odd) moved toward him, for Allah is One and loves the one. (Futūḥāt, II, 287)
Witr, in terms of the elimination of all considerations, is the Essence (dhāt) of the Real (al-Ḥaqq). For, contrary to shaf‘ (the even), in which the realities of entities (‘ayn) and names are determined, at this level, ahadiyya (divine oneness) has no nisba (relation) to anything, nor does anything have a nisba to It. (Kāshānī, 48; Jāmi‘, 103)
