It rarely occurs. The wājid (one experiencing intense spiritual ecstasy) does not reach this station after ghayba (spiritual absence). Rather, his cry emerges as if exhaled, a kind of supplication mixed with necessity.
tawājud–wajd–wujūd
Wajd (spiritual ecstasy) is a ḥāl (spiritual state) that descends upon the servant from Allah, bringing either joy or sorrow, altering his attributes and enabling him to keep watch over Allah Most High. Wajd is a relief that allows a person, who has been overcome by the attributes of the nafs (the lower self), to turn his gaze to Allah Most High when he finds himself.
Tawājud is to invite wajd through dhikr (remembrance of God) and contemplation.
Wujūd, on the other hand, is the broadening of the path of wajd by ascending to the maqām (spiritual station) of conscience (wijdān). Wijdān...
