Ebrār (the most virtuous servants) are the asḥāb al-yamīn (the people of the right hand). They draw near to Allah by fulfilling the obligatory acts (farḍ), performing what He has commanded and avoiding what He has forbidden. They do not occupy themselves with what is permissible (mubāḥ) or recommended (mandūb).
The sābiqūn and muqarrabūn, in addition to the obligatory acts, strive to draw closer to Allah through supererogatory acts (nāfila). They fulfill what is necessary (wājib) and recommended (mustaḥabb), and avoid what is forbidden (ḥarām) and disliked (makrūh). By performing all acts of goodness within their capacity and attaining nearness to their Lord, they acquire all of Allah's love. (al-Furqān 25:26)
