May Allah elevate you. In this book, intellectual maʿrifa (experiential knowledge of God), theoretical sciences, and experiential judgments are necessary. For Allah has not given the light of certainty (yakin) to everyone, nor has He lifted the veils of greed from their insight (baṣīra), so that they might walk regularly upon the path of those endowed with sharia-based firāset (spiritual discernment). This (firāset) is something bestowed by Allah, and thus it is not made specific to every individual. Therefore, only the elect (khawāṣṣ) among His servants can receive its effusion. (Tadbīrāt, 162)
