Ḥāʾ is the consideration of the Divine Essence (al-Dhāt) in terms of manifestation, presence, and existence. (Kāshānī, 45; Jāmiʿ, 104)
In the Syriac language, ḥāʾ is used for veneration and exaltation. (Mashāriq, 25)
Ḥabīb (our beloved) Rābiʿa al-ʿAdawiyya once said: Who will show us the way to reach the One we love? Her servant replied: The One we love is with us. But the dunyā (the world) has separated us from Him.
No beloved can take your place
No one else has a share in my qalb (the heart) except Him
He is absent from my sight and my essence
But He never leaves my heart
I have made you the spokesperson of my heart
I have opened my body to the one who seeks my friendship
My body becomes intimate to the friend
The beloved of my qalb
is my only intimacy in my heart
