Haşyet (khashya), is the breaking of the qalb (the heart) due to being constantly in the presence of Allah. (Luma, 116)
The first maqām (spiritual station) of khawf (fear) is taqwa (God-consciousness)... the second maqām is ḥadhar (vigilant caution), and the third maqām is haşyet. In this station are found the ʿulamāʾ (scholars), ʿābids (devout worshippers), and muḥsins (those who do ihsan, spiritual excellence)... (Küt, I, 241)
Khawf is a fear that arises in the qalb due to negative assumptions. Haşyet is similar to this. However, haşyet (regarding Allah) entails a kind of taʿẓīm (reverence), and (regarding oneself) entails self-belittlement... (Minhāj, 63)
