Hemm-i mea müferred (the concern of one who is solitary) and sırr-ı mücerred (the pure secret) have the same meaning. They refer to the secret and concern (hemm) of the servant who, having stripped away all preoccupations, becomes solitary in the vigilant contemplation (murāqaba) of Allah. In this ḥāl (spiritual state), no thought or incidental occurrence that could distract the servant from tawajjuh (turning towards), iqbāl (spiritual approach), qurbiyya (nearness), or ittiṣāl (connection) with Allah can assail him. (Lumaʿ, 425)
