He has taken the place of the servant as a substitute, standing in the station of the servant. The attribution of that divine subtlety (laṭīfa) with divine attributes is essential, legal, and definite. For this reason, the Real (al-Ḥaqq) is described only for Himself and by Himself. There is nothing for the servant in between.
In the matter of theophanies (tajalliyāt) of the attributes, people differ from one another according to their capacities, the abundance of their knowledge, and the strength of their determination. (Insān, I, 38)
The perpetual theophany (tajallī) of the Essence (dhāt) has three levels: The first level is the perfection of prophethood (nubuwwa). At this level, they act with murāqaba (spiritual vigilance) of the Essence, whose source is the perfection of prophethood.
The second level is the perfection of messengership (risāla). Here too, they act with murāqaba of the Essence, whose source is the perfection of messengership. The spiritual effusion (fayḍ) of this station is what is attained by the sālik (traveler) at this station.
